Bayshore Veterinary Hospital is a full service animal hospital in Marquette, MI that provides complete care for companion and small animals. Since 1993, we've offered state-of-the-art veterinary care to clients throughout Marquette County and beyond.
Thank you to all the patient customers, Bayshore staff and the more than able Cross Construction crew from Munising during our construction period; eleven months later the project is complete and it sure appears to be worth it in the end; 6500 square feet of new space to better serve your pets!
Charles Harvey would be envious to see his house now. He built the house in 1857 and later moved on to engineer the Sault Locks and the elevated train in New York. We tried to stay with the architectural style he had set in the original house.

Dr. Tim Hunt
Dr. Tim is a 1989 graduate of Michigan State University's School of Veterinary Medicine. He is on the Board of Veterinary Medicine in the State of Michigan and also holds veterinary licenses in both Alaska and Arizona. He practices at the same companion animal veterinary hospital he opened from more than 25 years ago. Building his practice from scratch he "ate a lot of Ramen noodles for many years." Continuing to learn and improve, Dr. Hunt attends continuing education each year covering various topics such as surgery, ultrasound and internal medicine, striving to provide the most up to date medicine possible. In February 2019, Dr. Tim became a SDEP™ Abdomen Certified Sonographer and Instructor further supporting his passion for learning and enhanced diagnostics.
Dr. Hunt has also raced his sled dogs and been a race vet in different parts of the world over the last 18 years including the French Alps, Rocky Mountain's, Alaska's Iditarod and the UP 200 numerous times. "If they put a trail in an area I would want to visit, seeing it by dog team is the best way to enjoy it."
Drawing upon his years as a vet and racing sled dogs, he created Dr. Tim's Premium All Natural Pet Food to replicate the natural, wild diet of dogs and cats. Seeing a need for a food that meets the metabolic needs of dogs and cats appropriately, his company was begun in 2004 in his garage. This food is currently sold through out the United States and various countries outside the USA. Dr. Tim and his wife Mary live on 50 acres outside of Marquette, Michigan, with one house cat, two house dogs and 20 outdoor dogs. Dr. Tim's stepson Tom is an M.D. and he and his wife Emily and two daughters live nearby.

Dr. Christopher Stretton
Dr. Stretton grew up on a small family farm in Greenville, Michigan. He spent his childhood raising animals for the local 4-H fair and helping his family take care of their multitude of pets and livestock. It wasn't until later in his college career that he realized that a career in veterinary medicine just made sense. He was accepted into Michigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2017 with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree along with a Masters degree in Public Health (MPH).
Upon graduating veterinary school, Dr. Stretton packed up and moved to the Keweenaw to begin his veterinary career in Houghton, MI. After a couple years of mixed animal practice, he accepted a position as a Clinical Veterinarian with Zoetis in Kalamazoo. While this position was unique and provided great insight into veterinary pharmaceuticals, he felt a draw to return to general practice. Fortunately, he had formed a friendship with Dr. Tim over the years and knew Marquette and the U.P. felt like home. In 2021, he accepted a position as an associate veterinarian at Bayshore Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Stretton and his "Better Half", Shelby, live North of Marquette near the shores of Lake Superior. They share their home with two fur children- Cali the Siberian Husky and Levi the Border Collie. Together, they love exploring the U.P. and take every chance to get out and enjoy the outdoors.
Dr. Danielle Hurley
Dr. Hurley was born and raised right here in Marquette Michigan. She attended Michigan State University where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science with a major in Zoology in 2012. She then continued on at Michigan State College of Veterinary Medicine and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2016.
Prior to Veterinary school Dr. Hurley served for 8 years as a Logistical Specialist in the Army National Guard. During that time she spent a year in Kuwait during 2005-2006 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
During Undergrad, Dr. Hurley spent a summer abroad studying Society and Ecology in Kenya. This experience deepened her desire to work with animals and support the human animal bond as a general practitioner in her home town of Marquette, MI.
Dr. Hurley is returning home and rejoining the Bayshore Team, after spending most of the past 4 years as an associate veterinarian in Iron Mountain, MI. When she’s not working Dr. Hurley enjoys all things outdoors in the U.P. And spending her time with her husband Eddie, their daughter Makaya, and twin boys Charlie and Noah. Their family has 2 Frenchies named Poppy and Jellybean, and an Olde English Bulldogge named LuLu.
