Danelle

Director of Veterinary Support Staff

I have worked with Dr. Hunt at Bayshore Veterinary Hospital for 26 years and have seen Bayshore grow tremendously through the years. I have made great friends throughout the years here.  I have loved working with the many wonderful clients and pets that have come through our doors over the years. As Director of VSS, I oversee all the crazy "behind the scenes" that happen at the clinic, making sure things go smoothly for clients, patients, and staff alike!

In my off time, I enjoy Family Fun Day! This consists of my husband, 2 children, and myself enjoying a day of hiking, skiing, and/or snowshoeing. Currently, I have 1 dog, 2 cats, and 5 chickens! My happy place is my garden! Every year I love growing flowers & vegetables.

I've always loved animals, I couldn't imagine spending my life doing anything else. I can't wait to meet you and your fur baby.

Mary B.

Business Manager

I graduated with a BFA in Musical Theater from the Chicago College of Performing arts in 2010. My goal
was always to perform and live in the “Big City”, but then I fell in love with a Yooper, and the rest is
history. I have a mix of administrative, management, and customer service experience and am glad to
bring my experience to Bayshore where I get to work with a great group of people and say “hello” to as
many animals as possible!
My husband and I have 2 young boys and we spend our time outdoors as much as possible on our bikes,
camping, and tending to our garden and chickens! Aside from our property, Lake Superior is my favorite
place to be and it’s my favorite form of therapy. Our homestead keeps growing and it keeps me
abundantly happy to raise my family in the U.P.

Lynn

Licensed Veterinary Technician

I graduated from MSU Veterinary Technology in 1981. I have worked in private practice as well as at MSU Veterinary Clinical Center. I worked in several different areas over the years: ICU, Dermatology, Oncology, Orthopedics, Cardiology and Surgery.

I moved to the Marquette area in 2017 and came to work at Bayshore. I work part time now so I can spend more time enjoying the beautiful UP. I love to take my dogs for walks on the beach of beautiful Lake Superior.

Veterinary medicine is more than a job for me, it is my passion. I believe in caring for every patient like I would my own pets. Currently I am primarily providing dental care at Bayshore and take pride in helping my patients have more comfortable mouths. Dental health is crucial to overall health. I also do most of the sedated grooming. I love educating clients and younger staff members to help the next generation of veterinary medical professionals carry on the tradition of care in our field.

Sam

Veterinary Assistant

Since 2018, I have been dedicating my time to animal welfare. Initially, while working in an animal shelter in Wisconsin, I discovered a passion for aiding both animals and their caretakers through education and using training as tool to increase the human-animal bond. Since moving up here, I’ve changed directions and put my focus into the medical side of things. I’m currently enrolled in the Veterinary Technician program through Penn Foster.
I moved to the UP in July of 2022 with my partner Jonah, and my two large dogs, Dutchman and Aspen. In my free time, I enjoy hiking with my dogs, indoor gardening, and collecting rocks. I look forward to being able to your help animals in many ways!

Megan

Veterinary Assistant

I have been working in veterinary medicine for about three years in. I have had a deep love and passion for animals since I was a little girl. Whether it crawls, slithers, is feathered, or furry - I appreciate all living things. One day I decided to switch up my careers in order to find fulfillment and true happiness in my work and I can say this brings me just that. I started at Bayshore in 2021 as a CSR and am now a veterinary assistant, working to become an LVT.
My other experience includes volunteering in South Africa, where I worked with the wildlife, local livestock, cats and dogs and the community. There, I gained so much knowledge, confidence, incredible experiences, and obtained a certification in wildlife chemical immobilization. I also help out with wildlife rehabilitation around the area and volunteer at the Milwaukee Zoo.
My hobbies include photography, hiking, enjoying nature, cooking, music, traveling, hanging out with family and friends, and spending time with my husband, Dakota, and our son, Liam. I have three dogs - Poppy, Groot, and Layla and three cats - Steve, Sakè, and Mochi.
This is more than just a job for me. It it my passion. I look forward to continuing my experience, growing in this field, and most importantly helping more animals.

Shelby

Licensed Veterinary Technologist

I graduated from MSU College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Technology. My career in veterinary medicine started over 10 years ago when I accepted a position as a veterinary assistant at a small animal practice downstate in Kalamazoo. Throughout school and after graduation I have worked in a variety of fields including emergency and critical care, mixed animal private practice, laboratory animal medicine, and veterinary research and development. The experiences gained through each role has allowed me to further develop my skills and knowledge as a veterinary nurse, which in turn, helps me better serve our patients at Bayshore. Currently, I cover weekend emergency on-call with my fiancé and fellow Bayshore associate veterinarian, Dr. Chris Stretton. We truly love everything the UP has to offer and try to embrace the serene nature whenever we can. Along with our two dogs – Cali (Siberian Husky) and Levi (Border Collie) – Chris and I love to go on adventures in our free time. This includes hiking, mountain biking, fishing, camping, and anything else that gets us outdoors. Keep an eye out as you may even see us and the dogs at one of Marquette’s local breweries for a celebratory beer afterwards! While I hope we never have to see you and your pet for an emergency, please know that we will do everything within our means to ensure your pet receives the best medical care possible. I look forward to serving you and your pet, as well as the greater Marquette community in the years to come.

I joined Bayshore in 2021 after working for years as a receptionist and then certified dermatology technician so I could follow my passion of working in an animal related environment. My dream would be to work at a zoo, but there just aren't zoo's in this area, so Bayshore will do. :)

My family consists of my husband, Jackson, and my 3 kids, Jayden, Mila, and Jack. We also have 2 dogs, Gia & Leia. In my spare time I enjoy competing on the local Women's Pool League.

I look forward to meeting you and your pets at your next visit to Bayshore!

Laura

Licensed Veterinary Technician & Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner

I have been a Licensed Veterinary Technician since 2007 and moved to the Upper Peninsula in 2010. While studying to complete the Veterinary Technology program at Michigan State University, I was introduced to rehab and have been interested in it ever since. After working as a veterinary technician in the Marquette area for just over five years, I took a hiatus from the veterinary profession in order to focus on acquiring a certification to provide canine physical rehabilitation services. I completed that certification through the University of Tennessee in March 2023 and am proud to have earned the title CCRP (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner). I am also a Fear Free Certified Professional. I truly believe in the positive effects physical rehabilitation can have on the health outcomes of pets and on the human-animal bond. I live in Negaunee township with my husband, Andy, our dog, Lada, and our cat, Valraxxaxoth. I enjoy walking, hiking and practicing yoga in my spare time. I joined the amazing Bayshore team in 2023 and can’t wait to meet you and your furry family members.

I was born and raised in Northern Florida where I obtained a veterinary technology degree in 2013. Immediately after graduating, I moved to Pittsburgh and spent 11 years working in Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care.  My love for traveling and exploring brought me to Michigan. If I’m not working, I love spending time outside, hiking, gardening or reading.
